This is our new baby, Mabel, whom we got from Tara's House Animal Rescue. She is a spirited handful and a very loving dog. She was originally found as a stray in Jackson County, WV, where she was taken to a shelter where they put down animals within 24 hours. We got her in just a nick of time, lovely girl that she is.
The other day our son Andrew commented that our dog Violet smelled like "old hot dog water." I thought that was pretty clever for a seven-year-old. He is getting really excited about the summer. We are going to vacation at the beach in Lewes, Delaware this year, which has become a bit of a family tradition. He is also enrolled in camp for the summer. I had been hoping that for three of those weeks he'd concede to bicycle camp, where you learn to ride without training wheels, but he's having none of it!
My son wants a hamster. Not me. He likes to go to pet stores and take photos of hamsters, cages, wheels, etc. This weekend we hosted the school hamster, Cinnamon. I kind of liked the little critter, but every time he saw me he ran!
I love learning and helping others to learn. I live with my husband of almost 17 years, 11-year-old son, and rescue puppy Mabel, and am very fortunate to live near most of my extended family. Right now, I'm working on a master's degree in instructional systems development (ISD).
I've included links of personal convenience and many others to favorite songs and videos, which I'll update regularly. I like most kinds of music except jazz fusion. I started my collection of world music at about age 24. Give it a listen; for some, it's an acquired taste. Some of it makes great exercise music.
